Lieutenant Commander Godiva Kimberlye

Name Godiva Rylee Kimberlye

Position Chief Intelligence Officer

Rank Lieutenant Commander

Character Information

Gender Female
Species Human
Age 31 (2365)

Physical Appearance

Height 5'7"
Weight 135 lbs
Hair Color Light Brown
Eye Color Blue
Physical Description From a distance people would tell you that Godiva's most noticable feature was her light, almost red, brown hair. A little closer and you might call out the way her blue eyes sparkle in the light, or the small freckles that show up when she gets the barest of sun on her pale skin. Or perhaps you'd mention her ever present smile and wide eyed wonder of which she showed for everything that she came across. Perhaps you would note the small scar across the bridge of her nose, barely visible from years of fading.

A slender frame and a medium height, she can slip into places most people would struggle. The light frame lends itself well to acrobatics, years of being a gymnast having paid off in her career. Though do not take her form as being helpless, as she also has been in Krav Maga since she was 6.

Personality & Traits

General Overview The world as a whole is of pure wonder to Godiva, where every new thing she encounters is something for her to see, study, learn and remember. With a memory, as her father liked to say, of a sponge in a bucket of water, there seems to be no limit to what she can retain. That childlike wonder has also been her downfall as she can become entranced by the smallest things. Still, it has not failed her before, as she is a social butterfly, able to move from group to group, talking with anyone about anything, should she be allowed. Though she can come off as annoying, with a near limitless well of knowledge about arrays of topics as far as the mind can take you. She is also known for her contagious laughter, which is ever present.

With all that in mind, she can also become a recluse, becoming hyper-focused on a project, and lose hours and even days to it. During these times she can come off as aloof and forgetful, losing sight of even the most basic of progress, including taking care of her space, which often seems to be in disarray. She swears everything has a place, and is quick to become agitated if anything is moved though, becoming then focused on relocated this missed object.

These combined traits have served her well as a xeno-technologist and field agent for Starfleet Intelligence, allowing her to study just about anything and gather a great deal of interest from it.
Ambitions Godiva's ambition changes so quickly it may be often impossible to tell what her goal is at any given point, though it always seems to be moving forward. She is happiest in a lab with plenty to absorb, analyze and most important, take apart.
Hobbies & Interests Anything related to computers, technology (old or new), and old children's holonovels, which she finds to be quite comforting.

Personal History Godiva is second oldest of six children in the Kimberlye family, if only by three minutes (and twelve seconds, she will remind you.) Her father a prominent Federation Lawyer and later Judge, her mother an Armoured Division Marine. From a young age, being named after the patron saint of Engineering was a fitting name. Throughout grade school she was known to fidget, and if left alone long enough, disassemble anything she was left with. This was of great annoyance to her father, and of great pride to her mother. Her twin, Oliver, was for the worse of everyone involved, exactly the same way. The pair were purposefully separated by teachers to as to avoid having them cause mischief together, but this only made it worse. Much to the luck of everyone though, only Godiva inherited her father's charisma and gift of gab, many saying it was proof a god may truly exist who was, to a degree, merciful.

From a young age, her father had insisted she be involved in structured activity, and was pleased when she had taken an interest in gymnastics at the age of four, but mortified when she included Krav Maga at the age of six. She was dedicated to the study of the activity, so long as she was actually present. When separated from her studies, be they school or extracurricular, her mind would wander, and many worried with her inability to focus on homework she would flounder. Only her iron grip like mind kept her going, and she squeaked by as a B student for most of her school years. It was only her aptitude for technology and application of anything she was asked to provide in tests for her entry to Starfleet Academy that got her in.

Accepted into the Engineering field in 2383, she was fascinated by subjects that horrified her classmates. Tales of the Dominion War and Borg invasion made her classmates angry, hateful, and scared, but Godiva was amazed. During her fourth year practical, she was lucky enough to be placed in a local research department, and was given access to some recovered, but inert Borg tech as part of her computer specialist training. This event lead to Starfleet Intelligence taking notice of her skills, not because she was able to be a good lab assistant, but because she was kicked from the lab entirely after not only accessing the Borg memory module recovered, but also interfacing it to the local computer and managing to download the information from it. Starfleet Engineering was annoyed and concerned, Starfleet Intelligence was interested.

After she graduated the Academy, she was supposed to be assigned on her Cadet Cruise, but was actually diverted to Starfleet Intelligence to do some final training as a Xeno-Technologist. The idea had been to train her for the role, but her innate ability to take apart and understand anything she was presented lead to her quickly becoming a team lead. She was never formally assigned to a ship, instead circulating as a mission specialist during plenty of missions surrounding recovery of alien technology. Her odd, almost supernatural understanding of computer systems from her days studying to be a computer specialist resulted in her also doubling as an Encryption Specialist for SFI as well.

In 2390 she worked on The Artifact, studying Borg technology recovered there, officially as an analyst for the Borg Artifact Research Institute as a Starfleet liaison, and unofficially to gather intelligence on what the newly formed Romulan Free State was able to recover from the vessel. She was then later sent to the Romulan Republic border, where she was tasked with the recovery of a damaged Romulan D'Deridex class vessel, again, formally as a show of good will to the Romulan people, but also as part of an operation to recover as much as she could about the vessel and it's systems, out of date as they may have been.

By 2396 she had more field agent time than most operatives would in their entire lives at only 31, having technically spent 80% if her career in direct field operations. Starfleet intelligence thought it best to pull her back for a few years to have her act as a Chief Intelligence Officer. It was believed that she would be requested for a research vessel, or maybe a patrol or combat vessel. None could have expected she would be requested to in fact be assigned to the newly recovered Obsidian Command.
