She is by no means awkward or hard to notice when she's in the room. What she lacks in sheer physical presence she more than makes up for in personality and in volume - you never have to wonder where in the room Faye is, you'll hear her just fine.

Always wearing a friendly smile (even if she's looking down on you) and never ever forgets her manners. She was born and raised in East Texas and that's evident in her manners, mannerisms and in every word she utters aloud. Faye's well aware that it bothers people, particularly those of more European backgrounds, but she wouldn't change it for anything and will dress you down properly (and politely) for suggesting it in any way belies a lack of intelligence or sophistication.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Faye, above all else, comes off to everyone both new and old as approachable. She's always got an easy smile, is always eager to talk and hear what your thoughts are as well as offer polite criticism with her disarming southern sweetness. People readily assume that because she's easy to get along with and so sweet to anyone and everyone that she's a pushover; that she's incapable of leading and/or having hard conversations. The truth is, Faye's inherent sweetness only makes those interactions that much more powerful. She's just as capable of smiling and telling you how good a job you just did as she is of dressing you down completely. She doesn't suffer fools or the foolhardy, and will not hesitate to tell you. It's bad enough that her brothers and sisters nicknamed her: Sweet Mama B. One doesn't need to think too hard to guess the meaning of the letter 'B'.

The middle daughter and straight up middle child altogether, Faye was quite often overlooked just about every step of the way and had to fight tooth and nail to get her share of everything in their house growing up. As a result, she's a scavenger and a scrapper who learned early on how to not only fight off her sisters, but her bigger and far stronger brothers with a mix of cunning and just plain grit. it's something she carried with her into the Academy and into her active service in the Fleet. Everyone always underestimates Faye, judging the book by its cover, and usually gets burned.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths:
- Tactically minded. Growing up one of so many siblings, she's learned early on how to move, maneuver and counter in order to be victorious in whatever she's trying to do.
- Viciously upholds the tenets of the Federation. Even if that means lives lost.
- Approachable and outwardly friendly to anyone and everyone. Also serves as a weakness as people presume to judge her based on that.

Weaknesses:
- Approachable and outwardly friendly to anyone and everyone. Gives others the impression she won't come down hard on them when the time comes. Gives the impression she's a pushover.
- Medical matters. Well versed in science, engineering and tactical but woefully unprepared for medical matters.
Ambitions To overcome her past issues and obtain a command of her own. In some darker recess of her mind she's considered that she might want to have children, but you'll likely never get her to admit that.
Hobbies & Interests Astrophysics. Faye knows she's out of her depth as an expert, but enjoys studying and picking the brain of any science officer who will indulge her.

Personal History Faye is the middle child of thirteen siblings whose parents lived, worked and raised their family on an expansive farm in the farm town of Barnswallow in east Texas which was also home to a veritable zoo of other creatures from cows to horses and everything in between whether or not it originally hailed from planet Earth. Her parents were great proponents of the bounty of nature and not only lived that life with their farm and all it produced, but with themselves as well; hence the thirteen children. That wasn't to say that there was a lack of love for any of the thirteen children, but as would be expected, life with so many siblings was trying for a young woman who never truly felt she was getting enough attention but never felt abandoned either.

Stuck in the middle, Faye was forced to teach herself how to handle the older boys and girls and how to avoid the pitfalls of being suckered in by the younger ones easier able to pull on mom and dad's heartstrings. As a result she developed an early sense of tactical awareness, learning when to strike for what she wanted and when to make herself scarce to avoid outcomes that were less than enjoyable (extra chores, bathroom cleaning duty, etc). She actually excelled at it far more than her siblings and was usually the last one to end up in trouble, though she usually got herself into far more - she was just clever enough to hide it better.

School was effectively an extension of life at home, but with some other kids sprinkled in. She was never too far from a brother or sister ready and willing to report back on misdeeds or a teacher eager to repay the sins of an older sibling on the next Magnolia kid to roll through their classroom. It made it hard to be anything but an outstanding student, which was something she would be thankful for later as she easily excelled in her classes.

For the first couple Magnolia children it was expected that they would stay on the farm and take over when their parents could no longer keep up with it, raising their family's there, but as those children aged into that legacy it left the younger siblings with more latitude to leave and find their own lives. Faye wasn't the first one to do so, but she was the first one to go beyond the next town to do it. Others had drifted to trade schools or local community colleges, found the loves of their lives and moved back nearby to Barnswallow to raise their family's. Faye had something else in mind and was able to gain admittance into Starfleet Academy, effectively shattering the mold expected of her from her parents and her siblings. She didn't leave on bad terms, but they have never quite forgiven her for leaving them all.

Faye had entered the Academy expecting to study Science and find a sub-focus that really challenged her, but she discovered in the testing phases early on in the Academy that she had a stronger mind for Tactical maneuvering and Security than she did for any kind of science, despite her fascination with it. She was no stranger to grappling with her older (and younger) brothers and already had a keen sense of when to run, when to hide and when to fight which Starfleet only built on. It kept her near the top of the class (though never quite the best, but not for a lack of trying). She easily charmed her professors and classmates with her trademark southern charm and then promptly outwitted them in the Tactical scenarios or on the sparring mat with a cheerful smile and a patronizing: 'Well, bless your heart."

After graduation, newly minted Ensigns at the top of the class had a better chance of getting that choice assignment while the other new Officers were at the mercy of the draw. For Faye, luck was on her side and she was assigned to the USS Icarus - Prometheus Class as a Tactical/Security Officer. It was a great start for her career, especially considering she'd entered the Academy on a science focus and left on Tactical/Security. The down side (and a significant one) was that the Icarus was quickly sent into the fray in the Dominion Wars.

Faye never got the chance for a quiet indoctrination to Fleet life, nor the chance to make mistakes when it wasn't going to cost lives or damage to the ship. She might have been just another Gamma shift Ensign but when all hands were on deck there was no one standing by the wayside. She cut her teeth early in the crucible of war and found, surprisingly, that she relished the fight. She was already aggressive by nature, cunning, ruthless and tactically minded about getting her way but now found out that in applying that to combat gave her a high she couldn't seem to resist. It sounded crazy to voice it aloud, but it was almost as if it were... fun.

The Icarus survived a few major Dominion War engagements before being sent back for repairs and riding out the remaining battles in space-dock before returning to Fleet for the final push. By then she'd earned her second pip and had taken over the Gamma shift role completely. The rest of her career would seem to crawl by in comparison to those first three years.

She climbed the command structure of the Icarus, earning the Chief's posting by the time she was promoted to Lieutenant and remaining there until forward progress was no longer an option for her. Desiring the center chair for herself or, at the very least, more action she transferred to the USS Pelelieu an Akira-class vessel taking on the role of Chief Security/Tactical officer and finding herself the action she had been relishing for so long. The Pelelieu was involved in a number of interdiction incidents over the years giving Faye the chance to really hone her skills, particular after the Romulan star Hobus went supernova. The Pelelieu was one of the first Starfleet vessels assigned to tactical patrols in the region.

Faye served with Captain Ayers on the Pelelieu until she accepted transfer to the Prometheus-class USS Theseus.
