| Physical Description | On outward appearance Jai looks like any other average individual in a Starfleet uniform, tidy, presentable and friendly. It's obvious he keeps his body in shape but not to the excess. Slim, toned but not to the point of becoming a walking wall of muscle. A defined jawline, a broad set of shoulders with a penetrating look to his eyes would often greet those that came to see him. Clean shaven though sometimes experimented with some growth but frequently couldn't make his mind up about style or keeping it at all. |

| General Overview | Jai is passionate about his job, it helps being Betazoid and often helps get to the core of a matter quicker with more difficult patients. He has always been passionate about helping others, a tribute to his Mother who always strove to teach him to look at the best of a person rather than the flaws. Since her death he's kept that close to heart and used that zeal to fuel his efforts to help others. Friendly, courteous, inquisitive and curious in nature which while helping with his duties has kept him confident, forward and driven in his pursuits. Those working with him find him encouraging, pleasant to be around while those being treated by him find it hard to evade truth or skirt an issue when he is handling rehabilitation treatments or counseling sessions. |

While not strictly career driven, he is driven to learning and putting that learning into use to help others regardless of rank. | Personal History | Jai grew up and started his life on Betazed but soon after the training to control his abilities and learning the responsibilities that came with such abilities he was pulled away and taken to Earth. His parents had always pushed him, encouraged him, supported him with his learning but Jai found it difficult to part the parents from the teacher. 1 year after his arrival on Earth both of his parents were killed on the way home from an outing by a xenophobic individual. Jai was placed into the system for adoption as he cycled from one care home to another. While not an ideal childhood he tried to not let it get the better of him and instead conquer it. When he graduated school he was unsure what he wanted to do with his life, because of his parents he'd driven himself into an advantageous position with grades and studies but it left him devoid of any real for sure choice on what to do. It took almost 3 months and at the age of 18 years and 2 months applied to join Starfleet. To Jai this was an opportunity to behold, new chances, new species, studies but most importantly to be a part of something bigger than what was possible on Betazed and he seized it with both hands. He knew he wanted to be a Counsellor, something which his species frequented in Starfleet though known on occasion to occupy other roles, but he first had to graduate. 4 years were not easy ones and there were challenges and hurdles that he had to overcome mostly from non-Betazoids who felt he had an advantage due to his abilities. At the age of 22, Jai graduated 2nd in his class and the long road of training in Psychology and Psychiatry began, armed with both initial certifications he was let loose upon the greater world. It was at this time Jai really fell into his element. His willingness to understand, how to listen, to read a person, to help treat and heal a patient in a wide array of issues. Learning about other cultures spurred him on, the intricacies, the codes and customs, what drives people all of which fascinated him. By the time he was 27 he'd earned his Ph.D in Psychiatry, by 33 he'd obtained his Ph.D in Psychology. |

Junior Grade. USS Exeter Age 27 - Obtained Ph.D in Psychiatry, Promoted Lieutenant, reassigned to U.S.S Somerset. Position: Counsellor. Educational enrolment into Psychology program. On duty element approved. Age 31 - Citation for Bravery during battle with Nausicaan raiders. Minor injuries sustained. See report 01-97ABTO-910A. Age 31 - Reprimanded by First Officer for failure to clear another officer fit for duty during psychological evaluations. Reprimand rescinded upon investigation.
