Captain Corvus DeHavilland
04 Mar 2024 @ 5:36pm
For “Corvus’ No Good Rotten Day”. An act in three parts, Markus’ post demonstrated a day in the life of Captain Corvus DeHavilland, showing her morning managing administration work (including the capture of a loose Gila-Koala), her interrupted lunch break (the dance of awkward communication surrounding her love life), and her answering of a ‘distress call’ in the cargo bay (Over a vat of peanut fry oil). A day full of minor headaches and follies.

“Woulda Shoulda Coulda” - Moon-Young Chung & Sylvie Hardt - Surrat Gallery
This is a post that describes what happens when two women from very different backgrounds meet. It starts with an interesting discussion on art, which is often revealing of the predicament endured by the artist’s homeworld, and gradually moves to humour and sharp repartees from both women. Moon has the last word though, as she found in Ms Hardt a new customer and will be able to design a new wardrobe for her.

The thing about comedic characters like Azario is they themselves don’t intend to be funny. Polar paints us a character who is taking his job very seriously and is eager to get all the details right but, being a little wet behind the ears, also manages to fumble his attempts. When I dropped the implied shape of this NPC in and suggested Polar adopt Azario, the result Polar delivered was played up to the kind of pitch particular to off key singers who don’t know that they’re off key. We grit our teeth and just try not to laugh in front of them and still stand up to clap politely. Bravo.
Brek - Timeless Treasures Art Gallery
05 Apr 2023 @ 7:05pm
For post: Wear and Tear:

When Polar volunteered to write a couple of one-off tailors for a JP Spiral and I had cooked up, I didn’t expect these two. Messrs. Fulcrum & Gilroy were hilarious to interact with, and their back and forth with Brek delightfully side-splitting. I didn’t want the post to end. (nomination by David)

Lieutenant Commander Lance Quinn (*)
27 Mar 2022 @ 12:33pm
Paul uses the socially challenged situations that Lance Quinn inevitably finds himself in to turn otherwise painfully awkward moments into humorous twists, leaning into the miscommunications and misunderstandings that result from the disdain and disconnects. Some of the chief examples can be found in the M2 posts “Expert Help” and “Say Goodnight”
