OVERVIEW OOC
A light month for us. Fourth of July week had a few of us traveling and going to BBQs here in the US. We had players busy with family health issues and work and study demands. It just sort of hit us all at once.
All that in mind, we still put up a few good posts and had behind the scenes activity as the crew contributes to a sim wide JP, which are always a little unwieldy while they give us players to imagine how all of our various characters might be engaged at once while contributing to the scene.
With fewer posts to account for, I’m combining all three of the news entries into this report (General Report, Summaries, and Quotes)

“I have to take the hit for you taking the hit?”
Sven couldn’t help but smirk at the boiled down version. “That’s about the size of it.”
She waved in his direction. “What are you? The kind of Fed that plants evidence on suspects?”
Sven pursed his lips and looked thoughtful. “Well, you wouldn’t be the first to make the accusation, but it’s never stuck in court.”
“This is a joke to you?”
“I mean, it’s kind of funny, Commander.”
Refractions: My Here Comes With Me Everywhere
"Unless you're dying, bleeding, burned or about to fall over, we're closed," a tired voice intoned from one of the bio beds. The figure was laying down with his forearm over his eyes but his head was turned slightly at the sound of the doors opening. He peeked out from under the forearm, "Unless you've brought chicken parm sandwiches?" he asked, his trademark snark heavy with exhaustion.
Refractions: Spilled
“I just woke up not pregnant, went through the recovery and forgot about it. It barely even happened and someone else got a kid. Whatever came up on your search about it... I don’t want to know his name, or where he lives, or who adopted him or anything. You already told me too much.”
A Wasp in the Beehive
“Glimm, what the heck are you doing?” Brek asked him immediately, his voice tight with controlled anger.
The pesky Ferengi turned round and gave him a bright smile. “My dear Brek! How enchanting to see you so soon. I’m giving you a taste of things to come if you don’t help me. I’m sure you’ve heard of that ridiculous saying among hewmons: A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
“We are not friends. And why would you repeat something that you find stupid? Get away from that wall.” Brek added, moving his arms, trying to shoo Glimm away.
“I can still appreciate a pun, even a lame one.”
Fresh Blood
“D’Ya know what I think?” Jacinta said, an oversized grin blossoming on her face. She put a fist on her hitched hip as she motioned the nearly nineteen year old into the security scanning station, holding the swinging low cut door open for him. “I s’pose you got yourself a bright future, real bright. Innovator. Gonna go on inna th’ fleet, make yo career an’ then up an’ com-bine us our physicals and these here security bi’metrics. An’ then–”
She let the spring loaded door shut, slapping the kid in the ass. He looked back with surprise as she carried on with indifference as if she hadn’t even noticed.
New quarters, who dis?
Later on he would program the ceiling so that stars would wink on and off and the constellations would change based on where on Earth he decided to set it to. He figured that he would set it to the solar patterns that he'd grown up with, on the edge of what was once Russia.
A sense of danger
"Honestly I wonder how you can hear so well and smell so poorly. "
"I can smell just fine, it's just not as refined as my sense of hearing is. I don't know why, just is. "
He looked at her for a long moment and said quietly "well they do say that the loss of one sense even partially can enhance the other ones. I guess it just enhanced your hearing because your sense is smell is crap."
"I assure you I can smell crap. "She shot back earning a laugh from the man.
Suspicion in the Ranks
“Here’s your soft-ass coffee.” Burns said with a smile as he placed it down next to the computer.
“Says the soft-ass who brought it to me” Dresden responded with a quick quip.

Refractions: Nuance
Commander Zahn must take a new smudge on the record for striking Lofthammer, even though he started it. She gives him permission to dig into her records to see if something can be turned up that might help clarify the claims of family ties to Revena Nazar. (Nikki)
Refractions: My Here Comes With Me Everywhere
Zahn checks on Doctor Corduke after he gets out of surgery with their injured crew. They talk over a couple of Chicken Parmesan Sandwiches. Duke is eager to get back to his family on his regular posting. Calliope isn’t sure what waits for her. (Sep, Nikki)

Grand Acquisition Master Glimm from the Ferengi Commerce Authority is back once more, making more noise than before, dealing false claims and property damage before things come to blows. (Spiral)

Back on Calliope’s home colony, her mother PO3 Jacinta Zahn goes about the day to day business of signing up and shipping out new recruits for the Fleet. (Nikki)

Suspicion in the Ranks
Dresden takes his investigation to the nearby Marine base and draws connections to a previous situation, also involving knives and lightning bolt forms, as well as a suspiciously similar description of the suspect. (Dresden)
