OVERVIEW & SUMMARIES
September maintained our posting levels- mostly thanks to Dresden Cage as he wraps up his last case on Earth and transfers to Obsidian Command. With 10,376 solo post words, Dresden wins September’s Flying Solo Challenge and earns the Paper Crown! This month we’ve added the Paper Crown Winner as a discord role. So we can single out our most prolific writers awkwardly among their peers, as it should be.
We saw many of our other members contribute during the month too.
Spiral brought not one, but two groups of npc engineers to attend the conference - and to plague both Brek and T’sheng in their own personal hosting torments as they each must deal with aberrations particular to their own people. David explored messy family law situations with his solicitor-pirate. Sara drops hints of a lab technician’s continuing struggle with staying anchored to reality. Olivia begins school on the station. And Calliope’s mother evades someone named “Marshal”.
For Player Reference The Engineering conference schedule can be found in the mission dropdown in the draft edit of a post on this site.

AWARDS
Post Spotlight - Options to Explore - David and nikki
This is a post that explores the complex emotional and legal challenges, tension and uncertainty faced by Ibis and her family. The dialogue is spot on, with the added humour and irony provided by their lawyer.
Characterization: Backstory -Dresden Cage
For a series of immersive posts (tense atmosphere, vivid description, action and suspense, this intrigue has it all) that recount in detail the reason why Dresden Cage, Acting Chief of Security for Starfleet Academy Campus North, opts for a transfer on Obsidian Command as their new Chief Security Officer.
Wordsmith Medal for Personification - Spiral
Brek is so well portrayed over such a span of time that we feel we know him at the opening of every one of his scenes, and yet his responses and snappy turns of phrase remain witty and surprising every time - whether he’s saything them outloud or only thinking about what he’s keeping to himself in his own head! He fears he’s getting a reputation for being a nice guy and does his best to hedge against his own conscience. Asking for favors isn’t quite beneath him, but he certainly won’t be caught either going begging or giving away his expert services. He prides himself on his cultural and financial heritage and yet wants to somehow stand apart from it and make his own way, a push and pull that has worked throughout his life to drive his diverse decisions, both personal and business (between which there are sometimes very fine lines.)
THANKS
Good on ya’ll for reading the reports and anticipating what you will write for October!
