A Massive But
“My heart is not made of stone, Brek. What I want is for you to organise this exhibition, whenever you can, for free. There will be no commission for you on this project.”
Brek kept silent, contemplating the enormity of her request. He would be working for weeks, for free, and all that to help a female Ferengi who, just a day ago, he didn’t know. Could he do it? His bank accounts could handle this silly venture. His conscience, on the other hand, he wasn't so sure.
“Your heart is not made of stone. It is made of the purest latinum. Congratulations on that.”
Change of the Guard - pt 1
Directly across from him sat a civilian family—two parents and a small child, the latter clutching a worn stuffed toy as she stared out the window, wide-eyed at the sight of the massive station growing larger in the distance. The parents exchanged nervous glances, their whispered conversations hinting at the unknown future awaiting them on the station. Dresden imagined they were among the countless civilian contractors or families of stationed personnel, trying to carve out a life in the floating city they were now calling home.

People who didn't want to be seen tended to like structural medians, maintenance hatches, and environmental breezeways. The map didn't especially mark such architecture out, but Sibyl knew the dark spaces between the lift car tracks and what stacked and snaked through them.

Dresden gave a small nod, appreciating her gesture of openness. “Thanks, Lieutenant. I have a feeling we’ll be working closely. And just to be completely transparent with you, I do work late and I will wake up security staff for those 3am emergencies.” He said with a fast food service smile.

Brek only noticed then that Kyrill was wearing a perfectly tailored black suit, making the youngster look ten years older.
“What’s with those clothes? Are you going to a funeral?”
“I know, they are silly. They make me look like an adult, it’s scary, but not in an artful way.”
A Needle In A Stack of Needles
“Fuck it,” he snarled angrily and stepped up with a punch across his body straight to Bowdler’s jaw, spinning the man around like a rag doll. He fell towards Corvus who stepped back in shock and the man landed on the deck on his face, out cold.
Legal Advice
The comm display suggested she reply with a little grinning squid glyph that somehow passed for a laughing reaction now. She meant to decline it but her klingon coffee tipped slightly and as she tried to correct the balance, A’Koja somehow managed both to fail to save the cup from splashing and to unintentionally send the unintended glyph.
“Damn it.” A’Koja rubbed at the coffee on her jacket with her sleeve, only making it twice the problem.
Zahn responded with a targ in a tutu. Which made just about as much sense as the squid.

A’Koja scanned the address headers. “You're married to one Viscount Lancelot Edward Alcott Quinn, heir apparent of Sir Peter James Alcott Quin, Earl of Ashbury? Named here as 'Viscountess Calliope Zorra Zahn Quinn'?” she said with a touch of humorous disbelief, looking up again at the slouched half-orion.
Study Break
It did sound a little like the sort of things Ibis talked about from her lab or whatever she was doing when she left with her black and blue uniform on. Her curiosity was piqued but her defiance grew in proportion. The last thing she wanted to do was to let Ibis think she wanted to do Ibis things. Olivia tugged at the sleeves of the stylish wrap Ibis had given to her, subconsciously angry and guilty all wrapped into one feeling. "No, I don't want to go to any gardens. I'm not a Botany-ist."
Picture Day
Wallace fished the shirt up off the floor and gave a single shake. He wanted to laugh at Olivia’s declaration - since when did she listen - but didn’t want to have to go ten rounds about her hypocrisy. He also wanted to tell Ibis to leave the boy be; he could remember the various fights with Marcus growing up and his own father’s verdict on the incidents: no blood, no foul.

Mia stopped abruptly, and laughed at him while she punched him in the shoulder in a comradely gesture. "Ass. Do you want more coffee?"
