Wordsmith Medal for Descriptive Writing - Nikki & Dresden
“Change of the Guard - pt 1” An engaging post where the majestic description of Obsidian Command contrasts with the emotions of the passengers. The addition of sensory details, as well as Dresden’s being divided between curiosity and responsibility, add depth to the scene.
Wordsmith Medal for Narrative Voice - Sep
“A Needle In A Stack of Needles” An excellent post with a fine description of the Obsidian Command’s setting, with the introduction of the enigmatic Captain DeHavilland. This contrasts with Bowler’s anxiety and determination. The dialogue is sharp and realistic, which adds to the tension of the scene.
Wordsmith Medal for Personification - Nikki
“Legal Advice” This is a post where intrigue and legal complexity abounds, as it depicts the difficulties Calliope experiences as she tries to disentangle herself from the reaches, and riches of her hopefully former husband. The dilemma is rendered with crisp and engaging dialogues, with a good dose of humour too.
