UPDATE
The 2024 holiday season seems to have taken up all of our energy in the categories of end of year work, travel, shopping and planning, hosting and entertaining... I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m looking forward to putting things back together around the house and finding a new day-to-day rhythm again. One that I hope includes sim writing once more.

Artistic Expression
Brek is gifted something which he resents liking, Glutik gets orders beneath his true talents, and Kyrill receives an antique device from his grandfather…(Spiral)
He sighed again. “Blast it. I don’t even like her.” He muttered as he put the weevil back into its magnificent black box. “Why would she do that to me... Sending me her warm regards? This is quite irritating... Females and their strange ideas...”
He would nonetheless keep the weevil of course. It was, after all, valuable.
Hard to Get: The Full Moons
There’s a break in at Jacinta Zahn’s place and Nick Tenpenny hotfoots it after his suspect. (Nikki)
“Tank! Jinxy!” she screamed as she went to unlock the door, a jangle of circuit printed keycards in her hand. “I swear to Kahless I will kick your canine asses straight on to the gates of Nathakartis, you better settle on down, you hairbrains!”
Changing of the Guard - pt 3
Lt Danzer shows Cage through the Command deck and introduces him to the Station’s XO. (Markus, Nikki, Dresden)
Dresden noted Zayne’s flat tone, and a flicker of something unreadable in the XO’s gaze. There was a lot on his plate, judging by the organized chaos of data and reports flickering across the command table. But Dresden had dealt with all types of personalities over the years, and he knew when to hold back and simply acknowledge the moment. He returned Zayne’s handshake, giving a respectful nod.
Proper Channels
Ibis Xeri needs to find a way to have permanent guardianship of Ikemba. One such route, she reasons, is to get herself properly under the Command of Captain DeHavilland, who she hopes is most likely to declare the entire matter in her favor and send the lawyers packing. (Nikki)
What she was after, if being brutally honest with herself, was a favor. She wanted to re-enlist, but to skip the red tape that would certainly come with an evaluation. Even if DeHavilland met with her right now and Ibis was allowed to present her request, it was highly likely that the Captain would just send her through the proper channels anyway.
Trucking Down Lost Things
The Engineer presents himself for a physical, but there’s a bit of confusion on the transfer of records from Sol. (Sara, Endia)
"Hannah Wagner, Assistant Chief." there was a hint of German to her accent when she named herself, and a smile ghosted over her lips. "Let's see if your request has caught up with your arrival. Do you happen to know which records location you made your request in?"
Something Fishy
Marshall Lofthammer has pulled guard duty at the Engineering Conference entry gate, and reflects on past observations while making some new ones. Something doesn’t completely add up, which leads him to follow inside the event. (Nikki)
The Tellerite abruptly gathered his case. “I’ll take that back! Thank you not at all! In fact you’ll be lucky if I don’t file a complaint with Station Security! Or the Marshal in Chief or whatever halfwit dolt it is you answer to!”
Calliope watched the Tellerite trundle off with his demonstration ware and re enter the line, complaining that he wasn’t admitted to the front of it after all of his trouble. Everyone reshuffled at his demand, glad for the relief from his biting commentary, so they might queue up in peace.
“Who was that?”
“A very happy customer. Also, he complimented your outfit.”
Calliope smirked. “Tellerites have the best taste.”
Sicut Principium (Just the Beginning)
Cage settles into his office and catches up on desk work. (Dresden)
By the time Dresden finally shut down his terminal, the station was quieter. He leaned back in his chair, staring at the darkened viewport. His office, still sparse and utilitarian, felt more like his now. He’d carved out the first steps of his role here, and tomorrow would solidify it further.
Re-Enlistment
Having been directed to speak to CMC HaiRoa, Xeri finds herself in his office, attempting to Re-enlist. There’s just the small matter of medical and psychological evaluations. It shouldn’t be a problem… (Nikki)
“You will have to fill out some forms, of course, because it would not be a proper military installation without the necessary paperwork.” He snapped up a padd from a supply chest and began to link it with forms from his office’s menus. “Something must fill up the databanks.”
Broken Dreams
After encouraging and assisting Brek in preparation for enrolling in Starfleet Academy for sometime, suddenly Mrs. Willander seems to have a change of heart. Are her discouragements real, or is there something else going on?(Spiral)
”A glance at you is enough to see that you are not Starfleet material.”
Brek bared his teeth, much like he did when confronted with the ‘rice-only’ meals sometimes served at FenixCorp. “That’s not what you were saying just a few days ago... But you know what, it doesn’t matter. I don’t need your help. I’ll continue to study alone. And I’ll join Starfleet, even if it takes me 10 years.”
“Sure, don’t forget to set your phaser to ‘barely surviving’ then! ‘Cos you are going to fail.”
