These hobbies mainly revolve around simple mechanics and wood-working, but she’s been known to try her hand at things such as pottery and the occasional solo sports. Chadrin grew up on R’ongovia. Both her father, Covel, and mother, Deprilla, were former Federation diplomats who taught courses at the Supreme R’ongovian University (commonly referred to as ‘The Supreme’). She was the eldest of six, with her siblings ages ranging from 3 to 14 years younger than she. As with most youth on R’ongovia, she attended the Learning Centers, boarding schools where children were educated and where teamwork, ethics, and empathy were central tenets. Despite their parents former careers, of her six brothers and sisters she was the only one who showed interest in living off-world. Yet, her parents seemed hesitant in allowing her to go. When she applied to the Academy and failed to gain entry, she agreed to attend the Supreme. However, she felt unfulfilled there, taking unneeded astronomy courses so she study the stars. Finally, at age 20, she dropped out and enlisted in Starfleet. Chadrin initially requested training in engineering, but aptitude tests showed that she had a greater capacity for diplomacy and intelligence work. As with all things Starfleet, what she wanted to do and where she ended up were to different place. She graduated from the Enlisted Academy in 2389. Shortly after her graduation and only a month into her first posting aboard the USS Proxima, she was assigned to serve with the Starfleet contingent at the Federation mission to the Romulan Free State on Vvalti. It was during that time she worked closely with the Deputy Head of Mission to the Romulan Free State, Maurice Rubens on the ongoing negotiations surrounding the Artifact. Since then, Chadrin has served with distinction on the USS Ivanhoe and USS Chant de Nuit, a diplomatic Federation starship that serves in and around Romulan space, quickly rising through the ranks. Both Ivanhoe and the Chant de Nuit were diplomatic vessels, with small staffs with heavy workloads. A decade after the implosion of the Romulan star and the total collapse of the Star Empire, refugees have inundated Federation space and small worlds call out for help as they are buffeted by residual Romulan powers vying for superiority. This has been focus of Chadrin’s teams up and down the former neutral zone. |
