| Personal History | Marcello is the middle child of five sons. He was raised in a fairly strict household, as his father was a former ranking enlisted man who liked to run a tight ship and his mother was very religeous, being a devout Catholic. They grew up in a rural town where his Father limited their access to most technology and insisted they work hard to keep them out of trouble and "grow up to be proper men". He kept them working on the family land, clearing trees, digging out plots and other menial work that could otherwise have been done more easily with technology. They had family dinner every night and attended mass at a small aging church, and kept the land which they leased to sheep and dairy farmers for grazing. Wiser was too innocent for most of his growing up to even know what he was missing, but when his mother became ill and they moved to a city with a hospital that could care for her, his whole family seemed to break apart around him. His older brothers were pissed at what they felt they missed out on in life and skipped out, and his younger brothers started acting up, irritating and challenging their father who only tried to crack down harder on them which drove emotional distance between them. Marcello found himself in a role of trying to be a peacemaker when his father was out of earshot. He felt like he needed to be good at all costs, as way to help his mother not to worry and to keep his father happy with him. |
