It really should have been an easy mark, her Defiant Class against that Nova Class Federation ship. She had greater firepower, greater maneuverability, greater speed, and absolutely no scruples whatsoever. The fact that Pathfinder had arrived and mapped the area already had put them at a substantial disadvantage, however, and Revenant to more damage than her Captain could have anticipated.

Revana Nazar sat in her center chair, her claw-like nails hanging over the sides of the armrest, and her generally tempting smile transformed into a scowl. Every twist and turn the ship took through the asteroid was just another opportunity for them to fall into another trap. But, if Pathfinder would give them a clean shot, it would all be over.

“Incoming warp signature.” Came a lilting but harsh Irish voice from the ops console. Declan Reilly, the ship administrator, generally counted the money, but worked this station when he was on the bridge. “It’s another Defiant, damnit! The USS Texas.”

“That sneaky little fox.” Revana said, her green hands clenched into fists. She leaned forward and watched the screen as they closed distance on the Pathfinder again. “Give me a ship status report.”

“Weapons systems are still hot and ready.” Said her Australian Chief Gunner, Asher Stagg. “But shields are at 32%. I don’t think we can take on two ships like that under these circumstances.”

“Maneuvering thrusters have lost 20% of their shine, Revana.” Said Corlin Par, her Bajoran acting Chief Pilot. The real one was away on assignment.

Revana contemplated the situation for a split second as the Texas arched toward them, weapons hot. Finally, she sighed with surprising calm and leaned back in the chair, stretching one long, toned green leg and placing it gracefully on the other one. Her face was now serene, though anyone who knew her understood she was furious and that there would be consequences.

“Well, there’s always tomorrow, right boys?” She asked, rhetorically. “Par. Get us out of here; warp 5.”

Without needing confirmation, the pilot put in the coordinates of his own choosing and initiated the warp jump. As the engines wined and powered up, Revana’s eyes rested on the Pathfinder one more time.

“So long, cousin. I’ll catch you later.”

And then the Pirate ship launched into subspace and was gone.
