.: [[Dockyard Administration: Alpha-Four Project Suite]] :.

Samual entered the Alpha-Four Project Office Suite to which he was assigned. The suite was quite large. The main room was a large connecting room often used as a lounge and waiting area, there was a reception area along with several seating areas scattered around. In the center of the room was a holographic projection table currently projecting a representation of the USS Casablanca with various information tags showing active work in progress. Along the left wall were the logistics office, meeting room, and the shift supervisor office. The right wall had the safety and quality offices along with a small head. The rear wall had the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Senior NCO offices.

He found four individuals waiting for him at the reception area near the entrance. A Human male Petty Officer Third Class in Command Red, a Human male Senior Chief Petty Officer in coveralls, a Bajoran male Lieutenant Junior grade in Engineering Gold, and a Human female ensign in Command Red.

Samual approached to introduce himself. "Good morning, everyone, I'm Lieutenant Samual Johnson the new project manager for Alpha-Four, and ranking officer of the dockyard."

The Ensign stepped forward to address Samual first. "Lieutenant Johnson sir, I was informed that you were arriving. I'm Ensign Ji-Yeon Choi the Dockyard Operations Yeoman. I will be assisting you with administration as long as you're ranking officer. I have brought the current duty rosters and master schedule for your review." She held out a stack of PaDDs.

Samual accepted the PaDDs adding the one he was already carrying with his briefing to the stack. Checking the top PaDD in the stack he found that it was the rosters for the management and support teams. "Very good Ensign. Glad to have you aboard, I'm sure you will be a tremendous help in keeping the mountain of paperwork in order. Please get a meeting scheduled with the leaders of all the management teams, let's say 1230 hours."

"Of course, I'll get right on it sir. If you need anything else my workstation is in the reception area for the senior leadership offices." Choi said with a smile before starting towards the door.

Samual nodded and stepped to the side as Choi left the suite. Samual turned back to the desk to see that the Lieutenant Junior Grade had stepped forward. "Sir, Lieutenant Junior Grade Temald Morga, Assistant Project Manager." Temald gestured towards the other two individuals, "Senior Chief Petty Officer Roderick McKinney, Project Team Senior NCO, and Petty Officer Third Class Logan Todd, administrative aide."

"Very good to meet you all, we've got a lot of work to do." Samual turned to the desk addressing Todd specifically. "Petty Officer Todd please schedule a Project Management team meeting for 1130 hours. I'll also need a meeting with Commander Rochambeau of the Casablanca sometime today."

"Aye sir" Todd responded and began working on his console. Samual started towards his new office, flagging the Lieutenant Junior Grade and Senior Chief to follow him. The trio moved through the lounge to the center office on the back wall.

As Samual entered the office he looked around. The office was the standard layout for a project manager's office. Straight ahead from the door was the desk which had a terminal and built-in controls for the large display on the back wall. To the left was an equipment locker, workbench, and a replicator. The only thing that was missing to make it the same as Samual's old office on Starbase 74 was a couple of personal effects he hadn't brought up from his quarters yet.

Samual gestured to the two chairs in front of his desk, putting down his PaDDs on the desk and taking his seat, checking that it was adjusted correctly as he sat down. He took a moment to activate the information display, switching it to show a cutaway view of the Casablanca.

"So, Mr. Temald what's a basic overview of our project status?"

The Bajoran officer sighs momentarily and reports. "Well, right now we are about three and a half weeks behind schedule. The bridge and deflector have been removed, and we are removing the port nacelle today. The deflector put us behind significantly, some of the hull plates in the surrounding area were fused so we had to remove extra segments to get the deflector out. We also don't have enough work crews to go around.

Samual shifted back in his chair. "We'll have to see if we can improve efficiency, possibly get us closer to being back on schedule. But for now, propulsion has to take a back seat priority-wise. The targeting and weapons control upgrades are the priority, in case the ship needs to be used as a stationary defense battery."

Samual paused and looked back to the display behind him specifically focusing on the area the deflector would normally occupy and scratching his chin in thought. "If that situation does occur and the shields fail the openings for the bridge module and deflector are going to be extra vulnerable...I'll discuss steps to maximize survivability with Commander Rochambeau."

Temald looked at the display and then nodded. "I'll get you a report on current shield capabilities."

"Very good Lieutenant." Samual looks to Senior Chief McKinney "Any problems with morale or discipline?"

"Everyone has been working hard for a while now, add to that the heightened alert and I think everyone is a bit on edge." McKinney's voice had a fairly heavy Scottish accent. "Discipline-wise, we have a couple of problem crewmen whose names keep crossing my desk, but nothing too severe."

Samual crossed his hands on the desk. "Very well, keep me informed if any more significant problems develop. Any other issues or questions to bring up before the staff meeting?" Samual looked at both individuals who shook their heads "Very good, dismissed."

Samual watched as the two exited his office. Once the door closed, he leaned back and started going over his schedule for the day in his head. Between meetings, time in the yard, and starting on paperwork he would definitely be working late.

He would really owe Krosin for this.
