.: [[Dockyard Administration - Alpha-Four Project Suite, Meeting Room]] :.

Samual looked up from his PaDD as the doors to the meeting room opened. The Project Suite meeting rooms were designed to allow for a meeting of the entire Project Management team or for individual members of the team to meet with work crew leads or individual technicians. Much of the back wall was taken up by a display that was showing a stand-by screen. The table had seating for nine with controls for the display at the left end of the table.

As he crossed the room, he looked at each member of the management team, putting a face to each name from his review of the roster. Going down his mental list he checked them off: First Shift Supervisor Crash Tramin a Bolian male, Second Shift Supervisor August Clark, Third Shift Supervisor Wisteria Burke, Safety Officer Adam Colbert, Quality Officer Graham Davis, and Logistics Officer Gia Magro. Finally, Senior Chief McKinney and Lieutenant Junior Grade Temald were in their seats flanking Samual's empty seat. This was one of the only project management teams in the dockyard that was fully staffed.

Samual took his seat and clasped his hands on the table. He took one final look at everyone before beginning his introduction. "Good morning, everyone. I'm Lieutenant Johnson the new Manager. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you over the coming months. For now, let us get straight to business."

He input a series of commands in the display controls, to switch the display to show an outline of Casablanca with tags highlighting parts of the computer core, and weapons control stations.

"Our current priority is to make sure Casablanca can be used as a defense battery if needed. We will be reassigning most of the computer systems techs to focus on the upgrades for the targeting and weapons control systems."

Colbert spoke up concern evident in his voice. "How survivable would this be, with multiple openings in the hull?"

Samual looked at Temald to his right in an unspoken query. Temald leaned over and input a sequence on the controls that switched the display to show a shield overlay. "Overall shield capacity for an Inquiry is decent but I wouldn't be all that confident in it with the ship being immobile and having hull gaps. It wouldn't take all that long for an enemy that's focusing fire to get through. Also, three of the shield generators are currently down-checked for extensive maintenance, and the generators in the nacelles are out of the picture. There is full coverage but not much wiggle room for generator failure due to battle damage. Ultimately I'm not sure how much can be done to maximize survivability if this ship is used in combat."

Samual leaned back and scratched his beard in thought examining the information on the display and looking for any good news on it. The thought of a ship he'd worked on being sent out in that kind of condition worried him. "I want those three generators back in working order as soon as possible. I'll discuss the survivability concerns with Commander Rochambeau. I will recommend crew be kept to a minimum." Samual paused and looked at the screen an idea coming to mind. "Should also be able to put some extra power to the shields and weapons. Still not going to be an ideal situation but every little bit will help if this is needed."

Burke leaned forward looking at the screen with a slight frown. "What about the refit schedule? We're already three weeks behind schedule." Her voice had a very distinct English accent. And she sounded fairly tired likely having just finished working since the previous evening.

Samual sighed, running through the manpower summaries he had been given in his head. "I'll see what I can do about work crew scheduling to improve efficiency both for this project and dockyard wide. For now, the most we can do is try to minimize how behind schedule things get. There aren't enough work crews to go around right now. We make the best of what we have for now."

Burke nodded and sat back in her seat resting her chin on her hand.

After a few moments of silence. Samual switched the display to a close-up view of the Port Nacelle and pylon. "Current work orders have removal of the Port Nacelle this afternoon, what is the status on that?" Samual looks at Temald.

Temald nods and speaks up "All loose equipment has been removed, plasma has been purged, the interior has been depressurized, and utility connections are being disconnected as we speak. Final checks should be done around 1500 hours, and we are currently scheduled to carry out final structural separation at 1545 hours."

Samual nodded and looked at the supervisors. "Very good. Any questions or concerns about the process?"

Samual tapped on the table. Looking to see if anyone would speak up. "Any other issues to raise in general?" When no one spoke, he switched the display back to standby mode and stood up clasping his hands behind his back.

"One final but very important note. With how behind schedule we are, it would be easy for quality and safety to slip."

Samual looked at each supervisor making eye contact.

"That cannot be allowed to happen here. Stay on top of things. I expect quality and safety updates in every shift report. Understood?"

Samual listened to the brief chorus of 'Yes Sir' with a nod.

"Very good, let's get back to work. Dismissed."
