Wordsmith Medal for Personification

This award is to celebrate a writer’s well-executed character across a significant time. Maintaining such a unique voice or particular set of qualities takes more of "getting into character" than the average portrayal. Can be for both PCs and NPCs.

Category: Both
Awarded: 3 times

Commander Calliope Zahn
05 Jun 2023 @ 6:44pm
CPO Ibis Xeri (npc)
For the description of a character who’s a true survivor. Whether Ibis is stranded on a planet, fighting for her existence, or that of her loved ones, or when she is finally ‘rescued’, her despair and doubts are always superseded by her resilience, compassion, and just as importantly, her need to find answers. (nominated by Spiral)
Admiral Zavareh Sepandiyar
05 Apr 2023 @ 7:10pm
For Markus' gripping description of Major Minka Mazur (MD) passing during childbirth, and the ramifications of this terrible loss and how it is affecting all those who knew Dr Mazur. It is a difficult subject to approach, which Markus is exploring in delicate touches through a series of moving posts. (nomination by Spiral)
Lieutenant Commander Lance Quinn (*)
10 Mar 2021 @ 12:03am
Quinn stands out due to a consistent commitment on the part of the writer to stay true to the core elements of the character. Quinn can be aloof and impersonal, even harsh— but the character is very far from one dimensional. It's rewarding to write alongside this character and interact with such a well crafted and distinct portrayal.
