For the depiction of an outgoing CEO, a stark contrast to his predecessor. Leblanc’s writer has not only brought a new style of writing - with a French twist - to O.C, he also managed to launch several entertaining JPs as soon as he arrived. -nomination by spiral While it's tempting to join a sim and introduce a character in an easy, fresh-page-turning manner and ignore what went before, Endia sees messy pre-existing story items as potential and goes for the jugular in building character drama, scene tension, and conflict in big and small ways. David joined at the beginning of the month and came with a character already fully loaded in his imagination. In his introduction chapters we are treated to a glimpse into Rice’s past life in high society and Diplomacy, and his personal life that intersects with his friendship to his mentor and with the love Rice has towards his mentor’s daughter. A rejected proposal leads to a career change in search of a life of something a little less expected away from the core worlds, and out to the unknowns of the Federation borderlands. |

Aaron joins us as Sikan, a Vulcan who has a particular interest in criminal psychology and a focus in the study of hitting people artistically (...Martial Arts). His initial posts are both cerebral and clever as he begins his new role of Chief of Security. These first posts are already beginning to illustrate links between the character and the wider world, drawing wonderful narrative connections in hi-definition, particularly in the detailed metaphor between the testing of the acuity of his martial arts training and his present assessment of the security situations confronting the station he must help to keep safe. |

Spiral joins us with a beloved character, Brek, whom the writer is exploring on Obsidian Command as a Civilian, formerly a Starfleet diplomat, but now striking out to seek his fortune as an art dealer. Brek brings a new point of view and is a push and pull of classic Ferengi themes, some of which he embraces and others which he bucks against. Well introduced, this character has us waiting for more. |

Polar hit the ground running with a thorough and unique biography, a fun to read character introduction thread, his own supporting npcs, and even chased down JPs to get himself plugged in. His vision for writing as a Marshal promises to form a connection between the fleet and the civilian tales on the sim. |
